Piracy Control and Android TV Solutions
In 2018, Irdeto launched the next-generation of its Piracy Control solution. Providing rapid detection and enforcement for content owners and operators, the online piracy detection and enforcement solution now provides new data-driven web video discovery tools with expert analyst oversight, multi-language site searches, integrated social media and search engine discovery, as well as peer-to-peer (P2P) stream discovery such as SopCast and Ace Stream. These new features enable content owners and distributors to quickly and accurately identify and then shut down pirated content across streaming video on demand (SVOD), direct download (DDL) and hybrid pirate websites.
Irdeto also launched Armor for Android TV which provides operators with the ability to securely manage this open platform. By supporting broadcast, OTT and new apps through open platforms like Android TV, operators are better able to address consumer demand now and in the future. In order to succeed in today’s ever-evolving pay TV landscape, operators need to offer innovative and secure platforms. Irdeto Armor for Android TV enables operators to reap the benefits of Android TV while maintaining full control of security on their platform, including managing content piracy and preventing loading of unauthorised software.
Recent Projects
Irdeto recently partnered with Bharti Airtel (Airtel), India’s largest telecommunications service provider, to secure all content offered on Airtel’s Digital TV services. The strategic partnership sees Irdeto implement its state-of-the-art security solutions – Irdeto Armor for Android TV, Irdeto Cloaked CA and Middleware – on Airtel’s set-top-boxes to deliver the utmost safety for all its valuable content and also provide improved customer experience.
This followed Irdeto’s selection by Orange Slovensko as its partner to securely deliver content through its recently launched direct-to-home (DTH) service to subscribers in Slovakia. The new service was launched along with a new premium sports channel Orange Sport, with Irdeto Conditional Access securing a range of premium content.
